I was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. I attended Appalachian State University and graduated in 1996 with a Bachelor’s in Science in Education.

After teaching in the classroom at both the primary and secondary levels for seven years, I followed a life-long dream to work in medicine. I earned my Master’s degree from the University of Colorado Physician Assistant Program. Following my studies, I worked in Denver in the field of internal medicine. During this time I also traveled to Baja, Mexico, to support the development of rural health promotion.

I enjoy working with the whole family, from children to seniors, and was pleased to join the Coal Creek Medical Practice in January of 2011. I am committed to building strong patient-provider relationships and opening avenues for communication, knowing that these are what lead to sound medical practice.

My personal interests include mountain bike racing, camping, traveling, and laughing with my family.
