I was born and raised in Duluth, Minnesota. I
attended the University of Wyoming as a scholarship athlete in track
and cross-country running. In 2000, I earned a degree in exercise
science, graduating with honors. I returned to Minnesota and earned my
Medical Doctorate from The University of Minnesota. Once again, I was
drawn west and completed residency training in Family Medicine at North
Colorado Family Medicine in Greeley. Following my residency, I
completed an extra year of specialized fellowship training in primary
care sports medicine at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.
I specialize in non-operative musculoskeletal care including acute
injuries such as sprains, muscle strains, knee and shoulder injuries
and fractures, as well as overuse injuries such as tendonosis and
stress fractures. I also have specialized training in medical
conditions in the athlete such as illness (mononucleosis, asthma),
concussion management, and returning athletes to play safely.
I joined Coal Creek Family Medicine in August of
2009. I have a special interest in sports medicine with a focus on
injury prevention and a goal of returning both athletes and
non-athletes to their sports, leisure activities, or work as soon as
possible. I also have interests in preventative medicine and
obstetrical care. I enjoy running, hiking, backpacking, biking, nordic
and alpine skiing, and spending time with my family. To learn more
